My goal is to build you and your confidence up so high, you’ll leave feeling ready to take on the world.
To that end, my focus is to give you the most effective tools for you to progress as far as you want, and to empower you to get maximum improvement in a way that fits with your lifestyle & goals. We’ll tailor all our activities to your taste in music and your level of learning, so anyone, including beginners, is 100% welcome, as are those who have had a little or a lot of previous experience!
A WAAPA degree in Classical Music, as well as my own special brand of fun, informs my style of teaching. My methods are grounded in a teaching tradition that’s been proven to achieve results for hundreds of years, combined with plenty of contemporary flair so it’s accessible and will work for all of you busy modern folk.
My pedagogy studies taught me to make my lessons very interactive, so it’s not just me yabbering at you, but is instead very collaborative. We’ll use a range of exercises that give you a multi-sensory experience, and there’s lots of space for you to choose songs that you like and are excited about singing!
meet the teacher
For as long as she can remember, Moraig, a.k.a. MJ, has had two great loves: performing arts and people.
Growing up in a family where singing and making music was second nature to breathing, it was only natural that she would eventually enter and complete the 5 year vocal scholarship program at Perth Modern School. Completely hooked, she then spent 5 more years at the W.A. Academy of Performing Arts pursuing her love of music, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in classical music.
More recently, she has followed her heart further into many different musical styles, and loves to sing for her own pleasure and anyone else's who will listen. And most importantly, in the last 8 years she has found a very real joy in passing onto others what she has been given -- through teaching!
Her love for people shapes and influences everything she does. Her coaching style flows from a place of deep appreciation and respect for the uniqueness of each individual, from musical taste to learning style.
Because of this, you can expect that each singing lesson will be tailored uniquely to your needs, and that achieving what YOU are wanting to achieve will become her mission!
Moraig is based south of the river in Perth, Western Australia. She also offers online lessons, so even if you aren’t close or don’t want to travel you are still 100% welcome!
